Happy Valentine’s Day

DSC05071 This was Cade’s 1st Valentine’s Day. We were in the middle of some hard physical trials, including a bad flu that went through our house (and lasted all month). Still, the yummy chocolatey center was some wonderful friends who were so willing to help. We didn’t make it to Cadence’s 1st Valentine’s Party, but we sent treats anyway and got a goody bag. Cade loved the chocolate, and the conversational hearts. He couldn’t reach his cute stubby fingers in the box, so he dumped them all over the carpet. When Austin started to clean them up, Cade shoved the 2 he had in each hand in his mouth (adding the the few he already had in there) and started trying to grab more and shove them in. It was a bright spot in our difficult month.

13 months

I was finishing Cade’s Baby book (made with smilebox & snapfish.com) and couldn’t finish because I had not yet gotten around to taking his 1 year pics. So, i threw on a cutie outfit and took some myself. DSC05080  This is the unedited version (it may add personality, but I took out the drool). It’s amazing how much he has changed in a year! What a handsome little boy! I just adore his little dimple.DSC05088

Sick & Playtime

Being sick is no fun, but we tried to have a few laughs. Here are some videos of our sick playtime.
You'll notice in the 1st video Cadence leaves a play trail. He carries around a toy until he finds a new one, and then leaves the previous toy at the new location. Makes cleaning up a lot of fun! You also get to hear him narrate as he plays. We have some fun conversations now!

This video is just the beginning of a love between Cadence and our Wii! He likes boxing because he can do it himself (though he likes to stop and press buttons randomly anyway). He is much better now than in this video! He even learned the sign for "play" just so he could tell me he wanted to play the wii (though he has also learned just because he signs it doesn't mean mom will let him). Enjoy!

The artist

Cadence started coloring this month! We’ve had a lot of fun! DSC04952His color preference seems to be green (he always has green in at least one hand). It has been difficult to teach him what is an acceptable coloring surface, so mom stays close to watch whenever he ends up with an artistic medium in his hand.
