The House

Okay now that our house is finally done therSe are some of you who haven't seen it. Here are some before and after shots! ENJOY!!

Improvements include:
New exterior vinyl siding
New sliding, energy efficient windows

We'll get pictures of the new furnace and the trim on the door later. Grandpa Smith was a great help in trimming both the door and the furnace, and we're very grateful to both him and Symon Briggs who helped install the new furnace!

Cadence Weeks 5 & 6

Our little guy changes so fast! He is now losing his hair! Our balding baby started with a full head of hair and it is slowly receding backward (good thing he's not a girl). I started singing "We welcome you to munchkin land" around him because he reminds me of the munchkins from the "Lollipop Guild". He's also getting a little more baby fat, though mostly just in his face. The rest of him is growing long, but still skinny (like his daddy).

***
We started giving him more toys. He loves to shake his rattle!! This rattle was given to his daddy when he was a baby from Grandpa Cobb!

***
Finally, this is the shirt he got from the hospital. I had to take a picture with him in it before he got to big! He truly was a miracle (miracle he wasn't a cesarean birth). Though we went through four hours of pushing (off and on), with the perfect nurse who know the perfect position, he turned almost facing down. The doctor still had to use forceps to guide him out. Through the whole process, Cade's heartbeat stayed completely steady! Cadence was definitely the perfect name for our little miracle. ~Amy

Admitted Defeat

It seems everyone in the world today is blogging! Okay, maybe not everyone but enough people have show me their cute blogs that I have finally admitted defeat. Don't get me wrong, I always thought it was a good idea. The problem (you may not see it as one) is that I love family history! I love recording personal and family history through scrapbooks, journals (I have a personal one, a family one, and now one for my son), slideshows, videos, pictures, facebook, and the list goes on! This just seemed like one more thing I'd have to keep updated. However, there are enough of our family that don't have facebook, I thought it might be worth the effort. Besides, I am a sucker for another good family history media! Hope you enjoy the journey of

Happy Blogging!

I LOVE YOU

Valentine's Day - "Aunt Taylor" suggested that it was never too early to start teaching signs. So here is one (I love little hands!) for Cadence's Aunt Taylor & Uncle Jon. "I LOVE YOU"!! Too cute!
(It would seem that this main family blog is only going to contain pictures of our cute little one, but Austin and I have not really been up to much that would be exciting enough to merit a photo opportunity. Don't worry though - our lives as new parents are getting more exciting each day. I am sure pictures of us will be up soon).
