Lindsey visits!

We had a fun time while Lindsey stayed with us this past week! She has been a big help with Cadence! We went to the pool on Monday with Jaylyn, Andy, & Sadi. We also saw the new movie "UP!" in 3D. It was a lot of fun!

He's getting around! Thankfully he's not crawling yet. I told Austin once he does, there is no stopping him! Though it'll be A LOT more work, it's great to see him learning and progressing.

Time for a crib!

We thought that Cadence was pretty ready for a new crib when he was found, consistently, with limbs hanging outside or stuck in awkward positions. He learned quickly if he got stuck and yelled for help, we would always come.

I had been looking for a "new" one on KSL but hadn't found exactly what I wanted. I was looking even harder that week and finally found the right one, for the right price. Austin and I put it together and went to get a mattress that night.

I spent time washing and ironing his new bedding he received from the Hwang family. I absolutely love the way the room looked!

Then we put him in it, and guess what?! Even with a bigger bed and a beautiful crib bumper, limbs are still sticking out!

Timpanogos Caves

What can I say about the caves? You think you are going to DIE before you get their (a 1,000 mile up hike in only like a mile) (or at least, I thought I was going to die with a 15 lb baby strapped to me) but it is definitely worth it. On a whim we decided to go up to the caves when Conner was visiting. They are very educational - fun facts all the way up and a tour through the cave - plus an awesome view as you climb up and especially inside. Cadence loved it too, but it wore him out! Conner and Austin had fun taking some interesting pictures. They look posed (okay they were) but Conner walked close to the edge practically the entire time! Scared me almost to death (maybe that's why I thought I would die?). If you get a chance, check 'em out!

Ward Mission Activity

Recent NP2nd ward activity and some fun friends! We really love our ward and have a blast worshiping, serving, playing, and just enjoying life together!

For Conner's 15th Bday, we decided to take him to do something he loves! He had a blast!

Music Studio Recital

For those who have not heard, I have decided to stop teaching private lessons for awhile. I need time to be a mommy. Teaching these students has been very rewarding and it was definitely a difficult decision to make. I decided as part of my decision, I also needed to hold a recital. The students did a wonderful job! Here are some great pictures of the event (held at the Piano Gallery in Orem).

I scream, you scream, we all scream for...

...FREE ice cream! That's right, I said free! We have been into "couponing" lately, and one of the AMAZING tips we got from Amy The Savvy Shopper (...if you don't know her yet, you'll love her - she helps the wallet) was to call the manufacturer with compliments, questions, concerns, etc. Well, we recently tried Dreyer's Smore's ice cream (if you haven't, it's a must), but found that there was only one HUGE chunk of graham cracker in the middle, instead of "swirled" throughout, like the packaging indicates. SO!! following Amy's advice, we called, and they sent us a certificate for a FREE ice cream! Unfortunately, we couldn't locate the same flavor (which we are going to call again about because WE LOVE IT) but still enjoyed our ice cream FREE nonetheless. IN FACT, at Smith's Marketplace we get an extra 5% off, so we actually ended up getting a nickel back! Now let me ask you, if someone was going to force to you to take free ice cream, don't you think you'd make them pay you a nickel to do it?! We're screaming!

This video just makes me smile! I love hearing our baby laugh! Tickles and kisses are the best! What a reward for being his mom!

FHE with Grandma & Grandpa Smith

For Great-Grandma Smith's present to Cadence she decided she wanted to get him a high chair. Instead of just telling her what we wanted, Austin thought it would be more fun to have an FHE with them. So we all went out to dinner (I love Goodwood BBQ), went to buy the high chair, then came back to play some dominos. Grandma and Amy were on a team, and Grandpa and Austin. I'm sure you don't have to guess who won (the girls..duh!). We had fun getting to know each other better (and Austin & I enjoyed a fun look into retired life). Cadence loves his high chair! THANKS GRANDMA & GRANDPA!!!
