Daily Quirks

I realized today that most of what we post here is the exciting, out of the ordinary, triumphant moments in our family. I suppose that's why lately, I've tried to post a better picture of what every day looks like for us. Being a LOVER of recording family history, I have so many ways I'm recording for us. For example,  I save my sappy, mommy moments for the boys journals & even some of the funny little sayings. I thought I'd record some here for your enjoyment. I just love these little boys!

Scene 1: Every morning I wake up to.. 
 *fling* (the curtain open - yes we don't have a door to our room, just a curtain)
Mommy: Good morning, Cadence.
Cadence: Mommy, I wanna eat.
M: What do you want to eat?
C: Toast.
M: Okay, just a minute, let me say my prayers.
C: I wanna eat Mom.
M: I know, I have to say my prayers first.
C: Mom, I'm hungry
(with some serious variations of hunger lasting until the toast/breakfast is ready)

Scene 2: Playtime - Imagination
Cadence has a little picture of a bird on the instructions to Heigh-Ho Cherry-O (one of our favorite games) and he's pretending to play Angry Birds with it (trying to fling it across the page IPAD style).
Cade: Mom, I want Angry Birds.
Mom: I don't have Angry Birds.
C: Oh, that's right, Cassie does (my sister)
C: (continuing to play with his piece of paper) Mom, I want to play Angry Birds.
M: You are playing it.
C: Oh, yeah.

Scene 3: Kory at Meals
Kory's tummy has been trouble, so no solid food for him (in fact, he doesn't really like it much yet anyway).
Kory: (anxious stare at the rest of the family)
Kory: (moving his mouth and grabbing anything he can to put in it)
Kory: Mama...
Mom: (hands Kory a baby spoon)
Kory: (satisfied)

Scene 4: Kory at Playtime
Mom & Cadence doing their own thing meanwhile
Kory: *Raspberry*
Kory: *More intense raspberry, spit flies down his chin*
Mom: Are you being funny? You are a silly boy.
Cadence: Silly boy. You're a silly boy, Kory. (while sticking his face in Kory's or trying to tickle him)
Kory: *Intense grin*
(Resume previous activities and repeat 5 minutes later)

Scene 5: Prayer
Mommy: Cadence, don't forget to say your prayer before you eat your sandwich
Cadence: Mommy say it
M: No, you should say it. It's your lunch
C: Dear Heavenly Father, thank for this day, Christ, Amen. OR the most recent variation is
C: Dear Heavenly Father, thank for this day, thank you Daddy's home, Christ, Amen.
M: (pressing forward in trying to teach a meaningful prayer) Thank you for this food.
C: Thank you, food.
M: Please bless it.
C: Bless it.
M: In the name
C: Name
M: of Jesus Christ
C: Jesus Christ
M & C: Amen!

He's so funny. You really never know what he'll pray for, but it's usually the first variation. Probably because prayer comes at uncomfortable times - during hunger, or fatigue. That's would be an interesting study...

Speaking of prayer...and fatigue... Goodnight!

Grandma Baron Visits

My Grandma Baron came down to Utah with my Uncle EdRoy and her sister. They came to see her brother, Uncle Levi and the baby blessing of my cousins babies. Uncle EdRoy called to let us know and invited us to come and visit them in the hotel. We jumped at the chance! Ever since my sister and brother-in-law moved to England, we haven't gotten up to Idaho as much and I've missed seeing my grandma. 

Kory was all smiles. Cadence got cabin fever really fast. He had a hard time wrapping his head around the relationship between his grandpa and these people (especially because we had just seen my dad in Florida). Still, it was fun to see my boys play with Grandma and EdRoy.

Day 7: Sea World & Downtown Disney

 So - my posts are pathetic. I know! I'm so behind! I have yet to post about our last day in Florida and it's almost a month later! Time just flies...
 We've had some really sweet moments around our house in the meantime, so I thought I'd share a couple videos (uploading while I sleep). We've been sick (Kory especially) most of the month. While we wait to find out what is troubling his little tummy (with bouts of vomiting that last 3 days at a time - 3 in the last month), know that I think often about filling you in on our lives, but I'm busy cleaning up the the aftermath and playing with the boys in between.
