Toddler Lock

While he may be smart enough to figure out the “baby locks” on the furniture after only 1 week, Cadence is actually enjoying Austin’s new “toddler lock” on his laptop. It is essentially a screen saver that pops up with different pictures (of varying sizes) and sounds depending on the keys or mouse button you press. He’s loving this new “toy”.

If you are interested, Austin downloaded a free one from the internet that he found through a Google search. I think I’m going to keep from getting one, just so he doesn’t always want to “play” mom’s computer. Some things are still hands off!

Happy Independence Day!

   We celebrate this holiday a little different every year. The only tradition is a barbeque. This year we celebrated everything all of the outward festivities on the 3rd and the 5th (taking a break for the Sabbath). Here is how we spent it this year:

1. We had a couple of friends over to our house for the meal. 2. My sister Cristina and her family came to stay for a bit.

3. We watched part of the Provo City Parade from Austin’s office window (“box seats”).

4. Went swimming in the pool.

5. Went to the Crandall printing museum here in Provo (our new found little treasure) which is free during the July 4th weekend.

  We spent time all weekend sharing and expressing gratitude for our nation, and the Founder. More than just this, we spent time remembering our Savior Jesus Christ who has freed us from sin.

  I had a blessed opportunity to go to girl’s camp with the 12-18 year old girl’s in our stake to help out with the music. Not only was I away for a whole week up in the quiet and beauty of the mountains, but I couldn’t call home. It was a spiritual retreat I really needed.

  It wouldn’t have been possible without Austin’s mom and youngest brother! They came to play and watch Cadence while daddy was at work. They had a great time too! Here are some snapshots from the week.

Project Update - Kitchen

Finished most of the cabinets sanding/painting. Take a look at the updated photos! There is still a lot left, but now that the worst part is over and the kitchen is habitable and functional again, this project is going to be moved to the back burner, while we catch up on some other things.

Primed/painted cabinets (the primer was gray, but it almost looks blue).

All painted (well we did skip a few parts for now) and re-organized. I’m excited to get the doors finished and up so we won’t be looking at all of the contents.

A blanket, a paint roller, & a haircut

A small blip into our 16 month old little boy:

1. Back to being “mommy needy” & loves the blanket.

2. Loves to copy mom and dad, including: dressing himself, using the screw driver, open the door to the car (“keys!”) and “painting”.

3. His first “official” haircut – with the razor/clippers. Before I have just trimmed it with scissors. It was just as hard to get this picture as it was to cut his hair!We love our sweet little boy! I can’t believe how much he’s grown. It is so fun to watch him learn new things and teach him new words. And as always…I still love watching my baby sleep. So peaceful…
