Kory – our 4 month sweetie!

Kory is such a delight! He is so calm and observant! He has really gotten into the typical four month old business of exploring with his mouth, reaching for toys, and especially watching us as we go about our lives! He’ll talk occasionally, when he’s in the mood. When he does, he really gets going! He probably has so much to say after spending most of the day observing everyone around him. He loves to watch Cadence play! He smiles so easily, too! He is definitely our bundle of joy!His fourth month visit to the doctor was good. He’s definitely our child – long and skinny! He’s not yet straightening out his legs, but a couple days of practice and I’m sure he’ll get it. We’re getting out the activity center again soon! He’s been in a little growth spurt, but seems to be recovering quickly (thank goodness, because I can’t keep up these feedings). We’re grateful that everything was resolved with the “potential” problems he had with his heart at birth. He’s a happy, healthy little boy!

Christmas in July

A sneaky little Santa showed up outside our door, with presents for the boys and some DELICIOUS brownies! I LOVE Christmas in July! Honestly, I even played a few Christmas songs shortly after this.
Cadence LOVED his new Lightning McQueen (his first one is still MIA)!

Kory got a cute little keychain toy, which happens to now be his favorite as well!

Boy, does Santa pick great gifts!! Thanks for thinking of us and bringing a little Christian spirit (Christmas cheer)!

Riding in Style

After looking at a TON of double strollers and asking around, we finally settled on one – SitNStand model by Baby Trend, which we bought from Target. I had been procrastinating getting one, even when I already picked it out, until yesterday when Cadence had to walk & Kory was put in the umbrella stroller. “My stroller!” Of course, half the time he doesn’t ride in, but still it was “his”. Ahh…we love two-year-olds!    So I promised Cade we’d go get a stroller for him AND Kory to ride in. HE LOVED IT (well…we all do)!!

We saw so many good friends on the inaugural walk, but stopped for awhile to visit with Kayla.

  She taught Cadence how to ride on the Razor. I was surprised that it could be adjusted for him, but even more surprised that he started to get it! Perhaps he’ll be getting one from Santa for Christmas??

Cadence's Imagination

Cadence's imagination has bloomed in the last month! Check out his truck going to a birthday party (where the nozzle for our air mattress pump become a bday party hat).

Movie Night: Cars 2

We had a blast going to see Cars 2 for Family Night! Cadence got all decked out in his McQueen slippers, and of course just HAD to bring the racing legend along ;) In fact, he isn’t going many places these days without the little car. This was the most still he’s ever sat at a movie, and we were so proud of him!

    

Mt. Pleasant Weekend

We went to Mt. Pleasant this weekend to be with the Sorenson’s.  Usually we visit them in Idaho for Memorial Day, but this year they moved to San Diego to live with Ian’s parents, a precursor to moving to Europe in the fall. Ian will be attending the University of Sheffield.

Ian’s Grandparents, Uncles, and Dad all own a cabin together. They decided, conveniently, to head up to the cabin (in Mt. Pleasant) to put up a pavilion and do some other work. So, we lucked out and got another short weekend trip with our Sorenson family.

Atley and Cadence had fun rolling and jumping around. Aunt Maria joined in the fun for a bit.

   

We chatted inside as sisters (Maria and Cassie also came). We decided to roast some marshmallows over a “fire” (they had one outside, but we had to inside because of the kiddos).  Of course there was rock throwing (with two year old little boys), but we didn’t dare take them to our old spot at the stream because the water was very fast and high.

       Cristina even brought some sand toys, which were pretty fun to play with.

    Ian loves history, so we thought he’d enjoy the game Austin got for his birthday called “Blast from the Past” (LDS church trivia).

We had a blast on the zip line they have there. Austin rigged up Cadence (with Cadence in the seat harness and Austin in the chest harness – modified). Everyone was pretty nervous but it was safe and he had a blast! (We later found out that Ian’s dad had another harness).

     Kory’s first trip away from home was a success!! We will definitely miss the Sorenson’s, but Amy’s still holding out for a potential trip to the UK for a visit! If you know of any deals, I’d love to hear ‘em!
